Veterans Welfare Group Joins Forces with Centurion Chartered Financial Planners

A New Chapter - Veterans Welfare Group Expands Its Mission

At Veterans Welfare Group, we have expanded our support for veterans by partnering with Centurion Chartered Financial Planners. This collaboration will focus on improving access to independent financial advice for veterans and their families across the UK, building on the support already provided by Seneca Financial Management in the North East and North West.

As our aim at Veterans Welfare Group is to provide comprehensive support for those who’ve served, we recognise the increasing demand for regulated financial guidance, particularly in areas such as pensions, savings, and long-term financial planning. By partnering with Centurion Chartered Financial Planners, we can bridge the gap between welfare support and financial planning, offering veterans a more seamless path to stability and independence.

Why Centurion? A Partner That Aligns With Our Values

Before choosing a financial planning partner, you should carefully consider each option you have. Our priority was to collaborate with a firm that understands both the financial industry’s legislation and the specific needs of the veteran community, and Centurion Chartered Financial Planners meet both.

Centurion is a chartered firm, which means it operates under high standards of professionalism and compliance. Their approach to financial advice is independent and client-focused, offering access to a wide range of providers without bias. This level of transparency aligns closely with our own standards.

Introducing: Carl Naudo - A Leader with Integrity and Insight

Carl Naudo’s arrival at Centurion Chartered Financial Planners adds significant experience to this partnership. Carl is a former Royal Marine’s Commando with a long career in financial services. Carl is widely recognised for his work in regulated advice and his understanding of the financial challenges faced by former service personnel.

“The military is a people centric organisation. The interpersonal skills I developed there are the biggest transferable skills I’ve carried into financial planning.”

“The Commando values I lived by in the Royal Marines have transferred directly into my work as a financial planner. Integrity and striving for excellence are fundamental to how I work with and advise clients.”

Carl started his career in financial advising and planning in a local, independent financial advice firm and since then has been providing clients across a range of finance areas, including protection, retirement planning and estate planning.

As he himself is a veteran, Carl has a focus and passion for supporting individuals leaving the Armed Forces, through routes like medical discharge or Armed Forces Compensation Scheme settlements.

During his service, he had envisioned himself in financial services, and after deciding to pursue this path, although there was the option to continue his service, he concluded it was time to transition back into civilian life, leaving behind the Armed Forces he had been with since he was 17 years old.  He has since stated;

“For me, transition has gone well because I had a luxury that those leaving the service for medical reasons do not. I was able to plan it, choose my time to leave, and execute it.”

Carl understands how difficult the transition from the Armed Forces better than any other financial advisor, he himself has gone through it saying,

The hardest part of transition wasn’t finding a job. It was adjusting to a different culture and the loss of identity that comes with leaving the military.”

His focus has consistently centred on clear, compliant advice that supports long-term financial decision-making for veterans. This includes experience in pensions, investment planning, and later-life financial considerations, which are all areas that are particularly relevant to veterans transitioning to civilian life; helping them to plan for the long term, not just the next step.

What This Means for Veterans and Their Families

The partnership between Veterans Welfare Group and Centurion Chartered Financial Planners creates a new route for veterans to access tailored financial support. For many in the armed forces community, navigating financial decisions after service can be complex. This partnership introduces a clear, structured pathway to veterans’ financial advice, provided by professionals who understand the context in which veterans are making these decisions.

Veterans and their families will now have access to independent planning services covering areas such as pensions, investment strategy, protection, and estate planning. These services are designed to work alongside our existing welfare provision, ensuring that financial well-being is treated as a core component of overall support.

Very few lives unfold exactly as expected, and financial plans should reflect that. Careers change, families grow, priorities shift. A good plan isn’t rigid; it’s something you revisit, adjust, and refine as circumstances evolve. Minor course corrections along the way are a sign the plan is working, not failing. Flexibility gives you confidence that whatever changes come next, you’re still moving in the right direction.

You are not alone. If you’d like any type of financial support – get in touch today.

What This Means for Veterans and Their Families

At Veterans Welfare Group, we support both active and ex-Armed Forces members throughout the transition back into civilian life, whether that be through a medical discharge process or another route. Some of the main areas we support individuals in include:
