Supporting Injured Service Members Through Advocacy and Awareness
The Veterans Welfare Group proudly announces that Lance Corporal Cassidy Little, an esteemed veteran and advocate, has joined as an Ambassador. Cassidy, a former Royal Marine, is widely recognised for his resilience and for inspiring others through their recovery.
In his new role, Cassidy will champion Veteran Welfare Group’s mission by advocating for injured service members, attending key events, and sharing his personal rehabilitation journey to inspire others.
From the Frontline to Advocacy: Cassidy Little’s Story
Originally from Canada and with family in the UK, Cassidy moved to live in England, and after trying his hand at stand-up comedy, he decided to join the Royal Marines. His journey took a dramatic turn when he was severely injured in Afghanistan, losing a leg in an IED blast and suffering a brain injury. Despite this, his determination never wavered.
During his rehabilitation journey, he took up acting and became a public figure and advocate, using his platform to raise awareness of veteran rehabilitation. He gained national recognition after winning BBC’s “The People’s Strictly” and has since become a renowned public speaker, regularly speaking to audiences about the realities of service, injury, and recovery.
Cassidy’s resilience and dedication embody the very mission of the Veterans Welfare Group. His voice will undoubtedly bring hope and guidance, inspiring others to seek support when transitioning from the armed services back into civilian life.” said Alex Demetrious-Seymour, CEO of Veterans Welfare Group.
