Simpson Millar Announces Partnership with the Veterans Welfare Group
National law firm Simpson Millar has announced a new partnership with the Veterans Welfare Group, a veteran-led organisation that provides practical and compassionate support tailored to the needs of the armed forces community.
Led by veterans and grounded in lived experience, Veterans Welfare Group offers financial guidance, rehabilitation, resettlement, wellbeing services, and access to trusted professional advice for veterans, service leavers, and their families across the UK.
The partnership, which formally begins on 15 September, will see Simpson Millar’s dedicated Armed Forces Team work closely with Veterans Welfare Group to ensure that the organisation’s helpline and case handlers can better meet the needs of its members.
This will include providing bespoke training on issues affecting the community, such as non-freezing cold injuries, bullying and harassment, medical negligence in the military, and parachute accidents.
Simpson Millar will also provide regular legal advice columns for members on relevant legal topics and collaborate on Q&A sessions via social media.
In addition, the partnership will enable the two organisations to work together in responding to key campaigns impacting the veteran community, such as navigating medical discharge and the transition to civilian life.
Esther Ralston, Head of Business Development at Simpson Millar, said: “We are delighted to be supporting the Veterans Welfare Group and to play a part in the vital work they do for the armed forces community.
“Veterans and their families give so much in service, and it’s important that they feel supported when they face challenges of their own. By combining our legal expertise with the Group’s lived experience and welfare services, we can make sure people get the help they need at the right time.”
These services are delivered by Simpson Millar’s dedicated Armed Forces Team, which has decades of combined experience advising and representing service personnel, veterans, and their families.
Alex Demetrious-Seymour, Chief Executive Officer, said “At Veterans Welfare Group, everything we do is built on lived experience and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by those who serve and their families.
Partnering with Simpson Millar means we can strengthen the support we provide, ensuring that our community has direct access to expert legal guidance alongside welfare, wellbeing, and resettlement services. This collaboration is about making sure no veteran or family member feels alone when navigating complex issues – together, we can deliver the practical, compassionate help they deserve.”
