Strengthening Services To Both Serving and Veteran Communities
As part of our partnership with Armed Forces HQ, we’re strengthening the range of services we provide to ensure no veteran falls through the cracks. While Armed Forces HQ delivers broad welfare support, we’re here to step in with more specialist assistance, especially in complex areas such as medical discharge, AFCS claims, and legal matters.
Service Leavers facing discharge from service often need help navigating the medical discharge process, understanding their rights, and preparing for civilian life. We provide direct guidance through each stage, ensuring individuals know what to expect and how to access the compensation and care they’re entitled to. We help veterans understand and pursue the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme claims, ensuring every case is treated with attention to detail and respect.
We offer various forms of support in the areas we specialise in. Our role in Medical Discharge Support involves guiding individuals through the discharge process and assisting with the transition after service.
For AFCS & War Pension Claims, we help understand and submit Armed Forces Compensation claims. Additionally, we provide legal advice and support in matters related to service or discharge, ensuring our clients receive the necessary assistance during these critical times.
How Our Services Complement Armed Forces Community HQ’s Work
The local Armed Forces community, around Armed Forces HQ, is estimated at around 22,000, and the facility has an open-door policy enabling individuals to attend their regular events and activities, discuss any issues or concerns they are facing with the team, and socialise with their peers. Veterans Welfare Group offer specialised support in areas that often need additional expertise. Our team is trained to guide military personnel, veterans and their families through technical, legal, and procedural issues and continued rehabilitation support through the Armed Forces Rehabilitation Pathway.
For instance, when a veteran contacts Armed Forces HQ with enquiries regarding compensation or the medical discharge process, we are ready to assist. We offer structured help with financial enquiries, explain the medical discharge system in detail, and provide legal support when necessary. This eliminates the need for veterans to approach multiple organisations—our partnership ensures that everything is coordinated within a single framework.
Navigating the veteran support system can be overwhelming, especially when different organisations offer overlapping services. Our partnership with Armed Forces HQ simplifies that process. Veterans now benefit from a straightforward, joined-up approach through independent specialists with lived experience.
This structure reduces delays, reduces repeated assessments, and ensures that information is passed efficiently between teams.
