City of Wolverhampton Armed Forces Day
This free, family-friendly event celebrates the Armed Forces community and recognises their contribution to the city and the wider country.
The day begins with a military parade led by the Army Cadet Band, featuring local regular and reserve units, cadets, veterans and standard bearers from the city’s Freedom Units, including RAF Cosford, 210 Battery, the Mercian Regiment, and HMS Forward. A civic inspection will be carried out by representatives from the West Midlands Lieutenancy and the Mayor of Wolverhampton, followed by opportunities to meet personnel and explore military information stands.
Alongside the formal programme, there will be a full range of family activities including a funfair, inflatables, food stalls, an ice cream van, themed bar, face painting, mascots and interactive sports sessions.
Live entertainment runs throughout the day on the main stage, featuring school performances, a military wives choir, the Army Cadet Band and local artists, alongside interactive games and competitions hosted on stage.
