Armed Forces Day is an opportunity to say thank you to serving personnel, Reservists and Veterans. The event highlights the contributions that local Service personnel make and Veterans made to the country and to Tameside. The AFD event is open to the public, and provides a varied menu of activities, including Food & Drink, Culture, Arts and Crafts workshops and fun physical activities. Public activities are free of charge and are themed around Armed Forces celebrations. Local organisations and agencies will be on site, promoting their services throughout the event.
