📅 Saturday 31 October 2026
📍 The Palace Hotel, Buxton
🎯 Veterans Darts Championship
Operation Checkout is all about our veteran community.
Whether you left Service last year or decades ago, whether you still play regularly or darts has given you a reason to pick them back up again, this one is for you.
For many, leaving the Armed Forces doesn’t mean leaving behind the friendships, banter, competition and sense of belonging that came with it.
That’s exactly why events like this matter.
Yes, there’ll be a trophy to play for and we’ll crown our Defence Darts Veterans Champion 🏆
But just as importantly, we want a room full of veterans getting back together, meeting new people, catching up with old faces and enjoying being part of that community again.
Thanks to the support of Team Forces, we’re able to create more opportunities like this.
We want veterans from all three Services, all ranks and all eras represented.
And there’s one more thing – it’s Halloween 👻
We’re holding Operation Checkout on Halloween night, so it would be rude not to turn it into a bit of a Defence Darts Halloween Party too.
Fancy dress is absolutely encouraged, with a prize for the best dressed. 🎃
And because we’ll have walk ons during the competition, there’ll also be a mystery prize for any player brave enough to choose a suitably spooky walk on song.
